Frozen Peanut Butter Grape Clusters
By Sammi Brondo — August 3, 2026
I’ve been thinking a lot about high protein desserts — and how there’s a time and a place for them.
Don’t get wrong: I think we’ve absolutely gone overboard with the protein craze.
Yes, protein is so important for muscle building and satiety, but that doesn’t mean we need protein chips. Or protein water (seriously, wtf?!).
It also doesn’t mean that we need to magically create high protein versions of everything we eat.
Some things aren’t meant to have protein. Some foods provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, or antioxidants. Some foods provide joy. It’s really okay if every single food we eat doesn’t have protein.
This is one reason why – you may have noticed – that my recipes rarely contain protein powder. Because if something naturally contains protein, great! But again, we don’t need to add protein to everything we eat. And personally, I hate the taste of protein powder.
As far as foods and recipes that naturally contain protein, I think they’re great! For a dessert recipe especially, if it has ingredients that give it more protein, fiber, or any extra nutrition, that’s awesome.
These nutrients help keep us full. They keep us healthy. And I’d never advise against them.
And that’s exactly what these frozen grape clusters are: a delicious dessert that also naturally contains so many nutrients.
Why You’ll Love These Frozen Peanut Butter Grape Clusters
These clusters are made with just a few simple ingredients: Greek yogurt, peanut butter, maple syrup, and chocolate chips.
They truly couldn’t be easier to make.
If you’ve had frozen grapes, you know how incredibly satisfying and refreshing they are. But when made like this? Even better.
Plus, grapes contribute so many amazing nutrients to these clusters: they contain antioxidants and other polyphenols, vitamin K, and are hydrating – with an 82% water content.
The Greek yogurt in this recipe adds satiating protein. In fact, three of these clusters have about 12 grams of protein, making them a high protein food.
Peanut butter also contributes to the protein total, while adding heart-healthy unsaturated fats.
But enough about nutrition: let’s just talk about how good these are, because omg, they are so good.
When you’re craving something sweet and nourishing, these are ideal.
They’re refreshing on a hot day and also nutritious enough to make a really filling dessert or even snack.
This summer, I’ve loved keeping them in my freezer and enjoying them after lunch. They would also make an amazing afternoon snack!
How To Make Frozen Peanut Butter Grape Clusters

Prepare ingredients
Prepare your ingredients to make these Frozen Peanut Butter Grape Clusters. You’ll need plain Greek yogurt, peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, green grapes, chocolate chips, coconut oil and salt.
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Add wet ingredients to bowl
In a large bowl, add the Greek yogurt, peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

Mix ingredients
Mix well to combine.

Add in grapes
Add the grapes and gently fold them in until they’re all covered with the yogurt mixture.

Create & freeze clusters
Place the grape mixture onto the parchment paper in clusters with about 3 grapes each. You should have about 8-9 clusters.
Put the baking sheet in the freezer to harden for at least 1 hour.

Melt chocolate
In a small microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave on high for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through. Stir until the chocolate chips are melted and smooth.

Dip clusters & freeze
Place each grape cluster in the bowl of melted chocolate, using a spoon to fully cover each one with chocolate. Note that you’ll have to work quickly so that the yogurt doesn’t soften. If it starts to soften too much, place the baking sheet back in the freezer to harden before continuing to dip the clusters in the chocolate.
Place the chocolate dipped grape clusters on the parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for another 20 minutes.

Drizzle and garnish
Optional: drizzle Frozen Grape Clusters with peanut butter and add flaky salt before serving.
If You Like These Frozen Peanut Butter Grape Clusters, Try These
- Easy Strawberry Ice Cream: Another high protein, fruity dessert that’s so refreshing.
- 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Mousse: This high protein snack is ideal for peanut butter lovers.
- Peanut Butter Cup Yogurt Pops: If you love peanut butter and yogurt together, you’ll love these.
- California Grape No Bake Cheesecake Bars: The grapes on top of these no bake bars are chef’s kiss.
- Dark Chocolate Pistachio Clusters: Pistachios add a satisfying crunch in these dark chocolate clusters.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Greek yogurt: I used plain non-fat Greek yogurt, but any plain Greek yogurt will do.
- Peanut butter: You can use sweetened or unsweetened peanut butter. Note that sweetened peanut butter will make the yogurt mixture sweeter, so you may want to add less maple syrup.
- Maple syrup: Maple syrup adds sweetness to the tart yogurt. See above – if you’re using sweetened peanut butter, consider adding slightly less maple syrup.
- Green grapes: I love the way green grapes are a little sour and pair with the sweet chocolate coating. Red grapes also work though!
- Chocolate chips: Opt for semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips.
- Coconut oil: A little coconut oil helps the chocolate to melt smoothly and also thin it out, making it easier to dip the clusters.
Frozen Peanut Butter Grape Clusters Tips
- Peanut butter drizzle: To drizzle any peanut butter, mix it with a little coconut oil and heat it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. This makes it thin and easy to drizzle.
- Texture: For the best texture, leave these out for a few minutes before eating so that that yogurt softens slightly. If they’ve been in the freezer for a few days or more, you may want to wait a little longer than a few minutes.
- Storage: Store these clusters in the freezer for up to 1 month.
