Looking for a delicious way to satisfy your sweet tooth while boosting your protein intake? These 11 High Protein Desserts are easy to make and packed with nourishing ingredients like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chickpeas, silken tofu, and peanut butter. From creamy mousses and cookie dough treats to frozen pops and healthy dips, these protein-packed desserts are perfect for meal prep, post-workout snacks, or a better-for-you dessert any day of the week.
I’m pretty upfront about the fact that I strongly believe that not everything needs protein added to it.
Protein chips? No thank you. Protein soda? You’ve gotta be kidding me.
While protein is a really beneficial nutrient, it also doesn’t need to be added to every single thing we eat.
That said, it is nice when food naturally contains protein. In food, protein helps with satiety and with muscle growth and maintenance.
As a dietitian, I don’t think I would ever purposely add it to a dessert (you’ll notice that I almost never use protein powder in my recipes!), but I do love when recipes naturally contain it to give that little boost of nutrition and fullness.
These desserts are a mix of nourishing, decadent, and everything in between.
As always, they’re simple, but so satisfying if you have a sweet tooth or just need a little bite of something sweet.
And from ingredients like Greek yogurt, peanut butter, chickpeas, and more, they all naturally are high in protein, making then nutritious and filling options for dessert or even to have as a snack.
