4-Ingredient Cookies & Cream Truffles

By Sammi Brondo — February 3, 2025

I never really got into little holidays until I had kids.

But with my kids, it’s so fun to celebrate every little thing.

We even celebrate Groundhog’s Day the other day. Why not!

It’s fun to have an excuse to celebrate, get little presents, or eat special food.

Like I always say, food is a really important part of holidays, special events, and memories.

You might have memories of spending holiday cooking matzoh ball soup with your grandma or baking cookies with your mom. Maybe you and your children love to go on ice cream dates together. (These are all special memories of mine!)

It’s very normal – and actually recommended – for memories to revolve around food.

Food is more than just nourishment. It brings people together. And this is why it’s so important to have a healthy relationship with it. You can’t fully embrace these moments and memories without fully allowing yourself to embrace food.

And that’s why I love picking a fun, chocolatey treat to make with or for my kids on Valentine’s Day.

Because Valentine’s Day is about love and food is one of the ways we show love. And who doesn’t love chocolate?!

These truffles are fun, delicious, and so easy to make. They have just 4 main ingredients (plus sprinkles!) and you can decorate them however you want.

I love a version with pink and red heart sprinkles for Valentine’s Day. But of course, you can never go wrong with rainbow sprinkles for any other day of the year.

My kids (and I!) loved these. They’re a perfectly fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, eat something delicious, and show someone some love.

Prep ingredients

All you need is one package of Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies), cream cheese, baking chocolate, coconut oil, and sprinkles or toppings of your choice.

Grind the Oreos

Add the Oreos to a large food processor or powerful blender. Process for about 10-20 minutes, until fine crumbs remain.

Add cream cheese

Break the cream cheese apart into small pieces and add to the food processor. Process for another 10 seconds, until well combined.

Roll into balls

Using your hands, roll the mixture into balls (about 2 tablespoons each). Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the refrigerator to harden for 1 hour. You’ll have about 12-14 truffles.

Melt chocolate

Break or cut the baking chocolate into smaller pieces. Add to a microwave-safe bowl with the coconut oil and microwave for 2 minutes, or until almost fully melted. Stir until smooth and cohesive.

Dip in chocolate

Using a fork, dip the truffles into the melted chocolate. Try to shake off any excess chocolate, and then place the dipped truffles back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Add sprinkles on top (or all over, depending on your preference)

Cool and serve

Place back in the fridge to harden for another 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Then serve!

Notes

  • Oreos: Regular Oreos will give the best cookies & cream flavor. While I haven’t made these with any other flavored Oreos, I’m sure they’d be just as delicious.
  • Cream cheese: Make sure to let it soften so that it blends easily. You can leave it at room temperature for an hour to soften.
  • Chocolate: Baking chocolate will melt most smoothly. Alternatively, you can also use chocolate chips.
  • Tip: Work quickly when dipping the truffles in the chocolate, as they’ll soften quickly. If needed, you can place them back in the fridge to harden halfway through and then resume dipping.
  • Storage: Store truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
