Honey and Soy Sauce Glazed Salmon Bites

If you’re looking for an easy and flavorful way to make salmon, look no further. These Salmon Bites make the perfect addition to any meal.

I love the idea of salmon in bite-sized form.

Something about it seems easier to cook, but also, it’s easier to add flavor to every single bite. And these little bites are definitely not lacking in flavor.

First, they’re marinated in a mixture of soy sauce, honey, sesame oil and sriracha. After that, they’re simply cooked on the stovetop.

While making them is easy, they come out so flavorful and delicious. Plus, the salmon gets juicy and tender without being overcooked. Ideal!

To make a complete meal out of this salmon, I recommend pairing it with rice and veggies. To make things super simple, try a frozen or minute rice that’ll come together in minutes.

For any veggies – I recommend greens like chopped broccoli and/or bok choy – simply add them to the pan when the salmon is done cooking. They’ll absorb the leftover marinade and become super flavorful. Cook them until they’re soft.

Lastly, I highly recommend serving with a dipping sauce. While these salmon bites are delicious on their own, everything is better with a sauce 🙂 I made a simple spicy mayo by mixing mayonnaise with a little bit of sriracha and honey.

If you want to double (or triple!) this meal, just multiply the ingredients. It’s great to serve your family or meal prep ahead of time.

Make the marinade

In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey and sriracha. Whisk well until thoroughly combined.

Let the salmon marinate

Cut the salmon into 1-inch cubes and add to the bowl with the soy sauce and honey. Toss well to marinate. Place in the fridge and let marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Cook the salmon

Once the salmon has marinated, add olive oil to a pan over medium high heat. Once the pan is hot (you should be able to feel the heat with your hand just above the pan), add the salmon and cook for a few minutes on each side, turning as needed.

Garnish & serve

Once the salmon is about cooked through, pour the remaining marinade over the mixture and let thicken for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Sriracha: For a spicier salmon, add more sriracha. I recommend going slowly so you don’t overpower with spice!
  • Sesame oil: Sesame oil will add a little umami flavor to the salmon. If you don’t have any though, feel free to swap for olive oil.
  • Storage: Store salmon bites in airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
